Huron County Newsletter
Week of February 18th to 24th, 2024
Good day,
Another week, another newsletter. Just a few exciting things to share before we get to the news and trivia (this week’s trivia questions are fantastic! Thanks again to local historian David Yates).
This week has been a very good one for us at the Huron County News in terms of readership, newsletter subscriptions, and also some new advertisers and sponsors. We are thrilled, and grateful, to see our logo, and a link to our site, on the Tuckersmith Communications links page. This is a big step for us, and we do not take the responsibility of being a trustworthy source of local information lightly. Thank you again to Tuckersmith Communications Co-operative.
We still have some advertising spaces available on both the website and the newsletter. If you or someone you know would like to help support us, and also draw some attention to your/their business, please send us an email at [email protected].
Thank you for checking out the Huron County Newsletter and have a great week!

Huron-Bruce MP Ben Lobb's Private Members Bill Back in the House of Commons
by Bob Montgomery
Huron-Bruce MP Ben Lobb's Private Members Bill would allow an exemption on propane and natural gas on farms when it is used for drying crops, heating of livestock barns and the production of food inside of a building. It would remove the carbon tax from those farm uses. Lobb says that would be significant because the carbon tax now is almost equal to the billing portion of the actual natural gas use.
