Huron County Council Approves The Purchase Of Two Ambulances For 2025
by Bob Montgomery
Huron County's Director of Emergency Services says the county will be purchasing two new ambulances this year.
Jeff Horseman says the total cost for both ambulances will be a little over 647-thousand dollars. He says they'll be purchased from Demers Ambulances of Quebec. The vehicles they're replacing are about six years old and have between three and four-thousand kilometres on them, so they're ready to be replaced.
Horseman says it's critical for them to make sure the vehicles they have are operational and well maintained so they don't break down on the road. He adds, they've being purchasing ambulances from Demers for the last fifteen years and they've had very good success with them so council recommends they continue to buy their vehicles from them.

Bazinet says the terms of reference for the Memorial Arena Task Force is to come up with…

Huron County Council Was Presented With A Refreshed Master Plan For County Paramedic Services At Their Last Meeting
by Bob Montgomery
Huron County's Director of Emergency Services says consultant Operational Research in Health produced a ten-year master plan in 2019. That plan looked at where their ambulance bases were located, call volume increases and trends and where they might have to look at up-staffing or changing staffing patterns. They also considered, potentially, where they might have to build new ambulance bases or relocate ambulance bases. Unfortunately, COVID arrived shortly after that presentation was made to council and…

by Bob Montgomery
Huron East Mayor Bernie LacLellan had asked staff to come up with a follow-up report on the current Provincial Funding for Public Health.
MacLellen asked that the motion approving that report be sent out to Huron-Bruce MPP Lisa Thompson and to all of the municipalities across the province for support because they're all dealing with the same problem. And that problem is that municipalities are being asked to pay more than their share of the cost for health care.
MacLellan says he understands that every…
