Huron Perth & Area Health Team Launches Unattached Care Clinics To Bridge the Gap in Primary Healthcare

The Huron Perth & Area Ontario Health Team has just announced the launch of Unattached Care Clinics.
In an important step to address the growing shortage of family doctors and nurse practitioners and working with local Family Health Teams specifically for residents without a primary care provider, the Unattached Care Clinics will provide much-needed access to acute, chronic, and preventive primary care services throughout the Huron Perth area.
Two and a half million Ontarians are currently without a family doctor and that number is expected to rise as more physicians retire. The Unattached Care Clinics offer a lifeline to those in Huron and Perth who do not have regular access to primary care. This new service is not a…
County Of Huron Issues Report To The Community On Homelessness

The County of Huron is dedicated to tackling the complex issues of homelessness, poverty, and housing instability in Huron County.
Warden Glen McNeil says one of the priorities for the county is keeping county residents informed about what is currently being done to prevent and address homelessness in Huron County. Serious Collision Closes Lucknow Line at Nile Road in ACW Township
On October 28th, at 12:20 p.m., the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police, Lucknow Fire Department, Goderich Fire Department and Huron County Paramedic Services responded to a report of a serious collision involving two motor vehicles at the intersection of Lucknow Line and Nile Road.
A pickup truck and passenger car were involved in the collision. The intersection is controlled by stop signs on Nile Road for traffic travelling east and west.
Emergency responders located five injured vehicle occupants who were transported to local hospitals, one of which was later transported to a London Hospital with more serious injuries. A sixth vehicle occupant was not injured.
The OPP closed sections of Lucknow Line and Nile Road for the investigation. Roads were later re-opened. Thankfully, all injuries were reported to be non-life threatening.
The cause of the collision is being investigated. The OPP would like to remind all motorists to pay attention to posted traffic signage, stay alert, and always wear your seatbelts. "You never know when you may need them!"

New Water Sculpture Has Been Unveiled In Clinton

A new Water Sculpture has been unveiled on Issac Street in Clinton.
Mayor Jim Ginn says it took two years to complete the project. The concrete was poured last year and the sculpture was completed this past week and they've filled the water feature up with cobble stones so the water will run back down through the pump and re-circulate. The Municipality of South Huron and Libro Credit Union Still Have A Few Spaces For Their Inaugural South Huron Youth Makers Market

The Municipality of South Huron and Libro Credit Union in Exeter are partnering on a Youth Makers Market that will be held on November 16th in Exeter.
South Huron Community Relations Manager Stacey Jeffery says the market is designed to showcase the creativity and innovation of young entrepreneurs and makers in their community between the ages of 6 and 14. They are supporting the next generation of entrepreneurship through an introduction to business resources and coaching. “These are the future business owners in South Huron so we're really trying to support youth in that step by step business development and encourage them to understand this could be a long term career for them.”

The Four County Labour Market Planning Board And Work Force Planning Board Of Waterloo, Wellinton, Dufferin have collaborated on a project to help employers hire and retain apprentices .
Four County Labour Market Planning Board Executive Director Dana Soucie says on November 5th, with the Work Force Planning Board Of Waterloo, Wellinton, Dufferin, they are hosting an event called Hire and Keep Apprentices. They will be bringing in an expert guest from Literacy Link South Central and they will be presenting to employers the resources and support available to them through the Literacy Link across Ontario.
Soucie says the goal will be to help employers who are considering hiring or already have apprentices, but might have faced some challenges in either attracting apprentices or keeping them. They will connect the employers who attend the event with their local Literacy group and they want to hear about challenges some of those employers are dealing with.
Soucie says the event is a breakfast meeting, it runs from 8:15am until 10:00am on November 5th in Listowel. It is a free event but registration is required. You can register by calling Dana Soucie at 519-881-2725 or email her at [email protected].
