Good day,

I hope everyone had a good week, and I hope a number of people made it out to yesterday’s In Time event, put on by the Huron County Museum.

This week’s newsletter features stories ranging from a trustee vacancy at the Avon Maitland District School Board, a training exercise for the County’s Emergency Services, local Habitat for Humanity and United Way events and fundraisers, a reason for celebration at the Blyth Festival, and anticipation already growing for Clinton’s 150th Homecoming celebration next summer.

Police Investigating Collision In Huron East

On September 22, 2024, at 2:28 a.m., the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision on Morrison Line between Mill Road and Roman Road, Municipality of Huron East.

Two individuals were transported by Emergency Medical Services to a local hospital; one with significant injuries.

Road closures were placed at the scene for the protection of emergency responders.

The Huron County OPP is continuing to investigate the collision with the assistance of the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement.

The Huron County OPP is requesting anyone with information to call 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or submit a secure web-tip at www.cstip.ca, where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2000.

United Way Perth Huron Makes Campaign Announcement In Exeter

United Way Perth Huron made their campaign announcement in Exeter today.

They're hoping to raise 2.626 million dollars this year. Executive Director Ryan Erb says that's an increase of about 300-thousand dollars over last year's actual, and the reason for the increase is three-fold. “First of all, we're trying to raise more money for all of the organizations the United Way supports, so over forty programming services across the region, because they're experiencing demand and longer line-ups and increased costs with inflation.
