Central Huron Council Addresses Parking Issues On Isaac Street

by Bob Montgomery

Central Huron Mayor Jim Ginn says council has had to make a few changes to address a couple of parking spots on Isaac Street in Clinton.

Ginn says one problem is near the grocery story. A number of large trucks have to get in and out around the store to make deliveries, and the number of cars parked in the area are preventing them from doing that. Ginn says some trucks are quite long and they need the full road to get in and make their deliveries.

The other trouble spot is near the long-term care home, where their employees require more parking than would be required there it was only residential.

Ginn says the solution for both problems is to restrict parking to one wide of Isaac Street and that's the motion that council has passed.

Local Author Launches Tenth Book In Her Rose Blair Murder Mystery Series

by Bob Montgomery

Judy Keightley has lived in several countries around the world, but she settled in Bayfield with her husband and four children about ten years ago.

It was in Bayfield where she wrote her first murder mystery “Murder on Bayfield Beach.” And later this month she'll be launching the tenth in her Rose Blair Murder Mystery series, called Murder at the Winery. Fittingly, the launch will be held on Saturday, October 12th at Maelstrom’s, between Seaforth and Clinton.

Over the years the main characters, Rose and Tom Blair, and their sometimes-dysfunctional family, have played a dominant role in the books appeal. “Many people think that Rose and Tom are actually Philip and I.” Keightley says. “But they truly are fictitious characters. I have, however, had fun embellishing their relationships.”

Judy Keightley books will be on sale at twenty dollars each at the launch, from two until four at Maelstrom, and pre-orders will be welcome at 519.525.4515.
